Born and raised in a small town, Kix Patterson started his career in journalism at the age of 18 with two FM radio stations in North Mississippi.
He graduated from the University of Memphis in May of 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors, Cum Laude in Journalism and Strategic Media. His concentration was in Creative Mass Media and his minor was in graphic design. He won countless awards and honors, including the UofM Alumni Association JRSM Club's 2018 Emerging Media Professional of the year.
Now 23 years old, Kix is continuing his education at the University of Memphis with a Master's degree in Integrated Strategic Media. His research focuses on minority representation in media and digital trends.
Kix currently works as the Creative Services Manager and FCC Compliance Officer for the Eagle Radio Network, a hometown radio network building serving three states and nearly 1 million listeners.
He was recently named the next Conference Director for the Public Relations Student Society of America's 2020 International Conference in Nashville, Tenn. Kix and his team will be in charge of the entire planning process and day-of management of the event.
Kix also pays the bills with freelance projects across Memphis, Northeast Mississippi and beyond with his company Kix Patterson and Associates, LLC.
